opened them in the first place... I

outside. She wandered over and saw that it was
Merlin.

Merlin explains that he would rather
like a room in the hood and requests that he be shown a
selection for him to make his choice.
"Well
unfortunately Merlin, we don't have too many rooms
available with a courtyard view. However, I could let
you have one on the third floor if that would be
suitable."
Merlin agrees to take a look and

Grizz takes a Fig Newton of his own,
leads Veronica to one of the stools behind the counter,
pours her a cup of coffee, one for himself, and
sits.
He munches thoughtfully for a moment.
Veronica swallows, and opens her mouth to speak. But
Grizz puts his finger on her lips again. She slumps a
little.
"I'm sorry,' he said. "I was just
organizing my thoughts. I got to wondering while we were
in Gira what would happen to you and the DISCO if
something bad had happened to me out there. That bird
was awfully hungry. Anyway, there's only one way I can
see that would protect your place here should something
happen to me. I'd like to take you in as an equal
partner. You know the stock, the customers, and you've
been running things as manager. It's just a tiny little
step more that would protect you and the DISCO. But it's
not something I can decide for you. It has to be your
decision. What do you think?"
Without really
looking at her, but very much aware of her, he continued
to munch Fig Newtons and sip
coffee.

the fig newton and then spewed coffee all over
Grizz.
Grabbing a napkin, she wiped the coffee
dripping off his nose and then laughed at his
expression.
"Personally, I think you got too much
sun out there in Eder Gira." She wiped the countertop
and then brushed the crumbs from her shirt. She looked
over at him and he seemed rather intent.

{On his way to the Lab, Ghost
Stellaflora in intreaged by the sight of a helicopter
parked in the Clock Couteyard and takes a closer look,
apon examining the cockpit he notices traces of a fine
glowing powder and levetates it into a ball in the air.
He then procedes to the Lab to deposit both the cloth
and the powder in sterile glass containers before going
in search of his glasses in the hood so that he can see
propoly}
