Professor T sat in the egg room nursing
a strong black coffee and an aching head. Cordelia
shuffled in and headed for the food counter. She lifted
the lid of a heavy silver tureen. A large fish head
stared balefully back. Cordelia let the lid fall back
with a loud clang. Professor T groaned from his
table.
Grizz finds himself
in a bare stone room with no windows. There is a dim
light coming from a device fastened to one wall. He
looks for a moment, then makes a little start and moves
quickly away to make room for Veronica when she links.
He goes to a dark opening at the left and looks into
it.

The DISCO in the Hood.
Speedy wakes up full of excitement. She
loves exploring, as if the others can't tell. That's why
she's CUTE (Capable of Undertaking Treacherous
Explorations) and she loves it! Speedy gets her
backpack and flies to Thietris' office. When she got
there, she found the squrriel and Cordelia in a weird
hottub filled with coffee. "Oh... um, I'm hoping that
I'm not disturbing, but I was wondering where the
linking book for Negilahn is. I have Merlin and Dr
Warrell in my group and it looks like they're ready to
go, whenever they get there," Speedy said. "Actually,
word is that FM wants to join you. Maybe you should wait
around for him," Cordelia said. "Oh... do you know
when he's coming?" asked Speedy. "Nope. That's a
rumor anyways," Cordelia explained. Speedy sighed. "I
guess we can wait a little while for him," she
said. "The book is the green one over there on the
second shelf... with the silver trim," Thietris said as
he pointed it out. Speedy walked over and picked out
the book. "You have a way back I can use? I don't
have a Relto book," Speedy said. "I believe Merlin
has one... check with him and then come back," said
Thietris. "Ok, thanks," Speedy said as she took the
book and left his office.

As Theitris dropped the lid of the
silver tureen, Seymour darted into the Egg
Room.
Oh goodie, Kestryll brought my
breakfast today.
He grabbed the fish head and
promptly sat near Theitris and Cordelia in their mug of
coffee, so as to not be unsociable as he daintily ate
the fish head.
Oh great, I'm lying
lifeless on a desert island and Ronda is cheering.

Speedy's office. "I'm not too late am I? I had to finish
an experiment on the algae, but I'm here with my Relto
book if we need it..
Let's just hope I'm not
Giles again for this expedition!"
For the non-buffy
fans..Giles was a character on buffy who spent a lot of
time in one season getting continually knocked
unconcious in the midst of every
battle..

"Steps." said Grizz. "Lots of them.
Going up into the dark. We're gonna need a light. I've
got a jar full of lightning bugs in a side pocket of my
pack if you could dig them out? Then we'll just see
where these steps
lead."

"Ugh, get that fish head out of this
coffee" said Cordelia with a look of total disgust on
her face.
Thietris didn't seem to notice and
carried on drinking his coffee through a straw.
Cordelia, however, has never enjoyed fishy coffee and
decided that it was time to clamber out of the mug and
get on with some work.
"I've got so many things
to do, I can't sit around here all day with you
discussing the price of fish, Professor"

Merlin had just walked into the
courtyard when he was met by Speedy.
"Hi Merlin.
Hey, the Professor says you have a Relto book I can
use."
"Well, I don't have a Relto book, but I
have something almost as good. Just wait here a
second."
*walks to his private room, removes the
book from the stand and quickly copies it*
It's a
good thing I kept it small.
*walks out into
courtyard*
"Here you are Speedy. That'll take you
to my Private Age, and there's a linking book back to my
Private Room from there. I've got one too, so if you do
go you won't be alone."
*attaches book to his
right side*
"You should do the same." says
Merlin.

Finally, waterlogged and sunburned,
Chuckles58 is awakened by a seagull picking barnacles
out of his hair.
Wha ... where am I. Hyahh!
Get off of me!
The seagull quickly flies over
to the other side of the Island (within a stones throw
... if there were any stones, but alas there aren't any
as this appears to be your typical desert
island.)
Looking around, he suddenly notices
something strange. The seagull is
purple.
That's odd. I've never seen a purple
seagull before. Wait a minute, the two palm trees are
also purple ... and the sand ... and the ocean.
Up until now he'd been amazed by the minute
details creating an unbelievably realistic
environment.
Yet now, the strange purple haze he
appeared to be in made his head swim.
I must
have swallowed too much sea water.
Looking at
his wrist to see if his KI was there (it wasn't) he
noticed his arm was purple too ... and his legs.
Everything was purple. Then it hit him like a ton of
purple bricks ...
Oh, yeah ... I've been
Marooned!

Veronica looks in the side pocket for
the jar of fireflies and wonders why they didn't bring
flashlights instead. When she finally pulls the jar out,
she remembers the walk through the caves in Eder Gira,
when the fireflies lit the way. "Oh, now it makes
sense." She tries to open the jar herself, but in the
end hands it over to Grizz. "I think I loosened it for
you," she says with as much sarcasm as she can
muster.
