Brilliant, MrD, I was looking for that!
I think this version is a little slower, but I suppose
one has to allow for the bahros' lumbering
movements.
Anyhoos (as Speedy might say), the
chase has broken out anew. Professor T, getting a little
irritated by all the commotion, has come out of his
office to see what's going on. He sees Lewises and
Clarks being chased by hordes of bahro. They disappear
round a corner, only to reappear again five seconds
later, heading in the opposite direction. Finally they
all charge into the professor's office.
And then
there is silence.
Professor T approaches his
office cautiously. He creeps inside. Not a sound can be
heard. The room is deserted. How strange! The professor
goes to his desk. The two linking books are still there,
open at the first page: the DRC book; and Negilahn. Dear
me! thought the professor. I should have locked those
away! Goodness knows what might happen if someone should
come in and ...
Cordelia rushes into Professor T's
office to see what the commotion is about. She sees the
Professor looking very worried and wonders what has been
going on. Just then she notices that the office is
otherwise empty and the two linking books are open on
his desk.
"Oh dear Professor, I hope that doesn't
mean what I think it means"
Just to let you know
that I won't be around much this evening so I'm afraid
you'll have to make your own cocoa and tuck yourself up
in your drawer tonight
