Unfortunately in he concern for what had
happened to the professor, Cordelia completely forgot
about the cocoa and has rushed back to her office in a
desperate state of dispair
As she sits at her
desk with her head in her hands she rather hopes that
maybe some kind person will take pity on her and make
the cocoa this evening.
She just wishes that the
professor was around for her to share it
with.

Cordelia, perhaps you can still share
the cocoa with Thietris! Did you know about its special
properties? It's the food of the gods
after all! Can you please still make it? Zebedee
can't.

And now the flying monkeys fly through!
They were being chased by the Dibbs, but the Dibbs are
too big to fit inside of the tree trunk. Instead, they
surrounded the tree and HARred outside of it, hoping to
get the monkeys out. But the monkeys are not stupid.
They're primates, with the special ability of flight, so
they are extra special. They stayed inside of the trunk,
landing on the corriders and chimping to each other on
what to do now. Merlin was looking at the diagram of
the tree when he saw many more blue dots come on.
"What the heek..." he said, and then suddenly, the
door to his room opened. He looked up and saw one of the
flying monkeys. His jaw dropped and he looked back at
the imager. Of course! This shows who is in the
building! Meanwhile, Speedy was still on the ground
trying to get the Nis out of her head, when she suddenly
noticed that the voice had stopped. She sat up and
looked at the imager on the desk again. The face was
gone. "What the heek..." she said when the door
opened. Speedy almost screamed, but she saw the
flying monkey in the door. "What the heek!" she said
again. And similar happenings occured in the other
three rooms as well. Grassie was a little bit shocked.
FM didn't care as long as it didn't try to steal his
food, and Dr Warrell just at the monkey. The
monkey though with Dr Warrell came to the edge of the
balcony and looked down. He jumped up and down, as if he
was happy. Dr Warrell looked down and about 100m below
were a bunch of Dibbs. The monkey then flew back inside
the tree, chimping wildly. This arroused all of the
other monkeys and they flew through the door to the
balcony and flew off. But poor Dr Warrell. He ducked
in order to try not to be hit by the flying
monkeys...

MrD, Cordelia is far
too upset to make the cocoa tonight, she's having a very
large malt whiskey in her private office if you would
care to join her
However, please
be quiet when you walk in because the chances are she
will be fast asleep at her desk - large malt whiskeys
tend to have that effect on her

MrD comes quietly as requested, but he
can scarcely contain his enthusiam.
Cordelia, the
cocoa! It's the key to getting Thietris out of there!
That's what Zebedee was trying to tell you! You don't
know where he is, but you can find out. He's bound to
respond to cocoa, isn't he? Drip a bit onto each page.
If he's in that age he'll respond. If he's in some
nether region he'll respond on the second drop. Worth a
try? Of course, you might have to follow it with a drip
of rum.

Ho hum! Thank you, GS. I'll have to try
this, but I won't know its effect until the
morning.
So saying, Mr D tiptoes into Professor
T's office (just in case Urudawg is around - wouldn't
want to wake him now, would he? ), and dips his finger into
the cocoa. Saying OWWW!!! as quietly as possible, he
drips two drops onto each page. They vanish into the
respective ages. Will they resuscitate Prof T? Will they
dissolve the rock around him? Will they have no impact
whatsoever?

Grassie, Merlin,
and Speedy were all rather curious on where the flying
monkeys who came into their respective rooms went (FM in
the meantime was glad that they were gone so he could
enjoy his food!). They left the rooms to see what was
going on. "Hey, did you see where those monkeys
went?" asked Merlin. "I didn't, did you Grassie?"
Speedy asked. "I think they flew through that
door..." Grassie said as he pointed to the one that led
to the balcony. The three of them ran up the
corridor and peered through the door. They saw the
balcony, but they were more concerned with Dr Warrell.
During this time, the monkeys were pushing Dr Warrell
towards the edge of the balcony and he was leaning over
very far at this time... "Dr Warrell!" Merlin shouted
as he ran out. Speedy and Grassie followed in suit. Too
bad the three of them were also caught in the draft of
the flying monkeys, so they were propelled forward. But
just as Merlin was about to grab Dr Warrell's arm, Dr
Warrell fell over the edge of the balcony! But Merlin
didn't stop in time! He too fell over! Speedy was the
next one in line, but since she could fly (yay!) she
jumped off and drove down to catch Merlin and Dr
Warrell. Grassie, however, was last and able to stop
himself at the edge. He gasped as Speedy flew so swiftly
down. Speedy first caught up with Merlin. She used
one of her feet to grab hold of Merlin's shirt. By
grabbing, she was thrust downward some, since she now
was carrying extra weight... but she used this wisely to
get an extra acceleration to try to catch Dr
Warrell. With about 20 meters to go, Dr Warrell began
to pray. He prayed to go to a lumberjack paradise, even
though he is not a lumberjack but oh how he longed to be
one! With 10 meters to go, he closed his eyes,
fearing what the impact what might look like... and
suddenly, he felt something grab onto his lab coat. "It
must be an angel..." he thought as he kept his eyes
closed. There was another lurch and then he felt
weightlessness. "I'm dead..." he thought and he blacked
out. Speedy, however, was still quite alert. She was
now trying to carry a fullsized man and a growing
teenager, easily carrying about 300 pounds on her two
banged up legs! With much strength, she pumped her wings
harder, slowly gaining altitude. "Come on, Speedy,
you can do it!" Merlin shouted in
encouragement. Speedy grunted, keeping her eye on the
balcony. Grassie was not on the ledge anymore... in
fact, he left as soon as he saw Speedy begin to climb
back up. He went back to his backpack (which he left in
his room) and pulled out a rope and a hook. En route to
the balcony, he spied FM. "FM! We need your help
now!" Grassie shouted. "I'mph eatinhpm mph phood!" FM
said with his mouth full. "I don't care! Speedy needs
help now and I need you to help me pull people up!"
Grassie said as he ran back to the balcony. FM sighed as
he put his sandwich down. He can take a few minutes out
of eating, he thought as he left the room and went to
the balcony. Grassie, upon reaching the edge of the
balcony, attached the hook to the rope. He then looked
around, trying to find something to keep the hook hooked
onto... when he finally decided to hook the doorway
since it looked strong enough. He did this and then
threw the rope down. Altogether, the rope was about 40
meters long, but since the balcony is about 10 meters
long, only 30 meters of rope hung over the side.
Grassie looked down. It appeared that Speedy was
about halfway to the top...

FM joined Grassie at the edge. "What
the heek..." FM said. "Later. Come on Speedy!"
Grassie shouted. "Come on girl! You're almost there!"
FM said. Speedy pumped harder. Her energy was waning
and her wings were getting more tired with each
pump. "Come on Speedy! Get me to that rope and I can
climb up!" said Merlin. "I'm... (pant) trying..."
Speedy panted. 10 meters to go... when suddenly, Dr
Warrell came conscious. He looked down. "What the
heek,..." he said, for he actually thought that he was
dead, but it appears he was going upwards! To
heaven? "Dr Warrell! You're awake!" Merlin
shouted. "What? You're dead too?" Dr Warrell asked in
shock. "No, Speedy saved us! She's trying to get us
to the rope so we can climb up it to the balcony..."
Merlin explained. "But I've never climbed a rope
before..." Dr Warrell said, suddenly getting scared. I
am going to die after all, he thought. Speedy
groaned. "Well, there is a first time for everything,"
she muttered loudly so Dr Warrell could hear
her. Finally, she got to the rope. "Merlin, can you
reach it?" she panted. "Just another inch..." Merlin
said as he stretched his arm. Speedy flew up another
inch and Merlin grabbed the rope. "Come on, Dr
Warrell! You can do it!" said Merlin. "Come on you
guys! Grab hold and we'll pull you up!" shouted
Grassie. "We are?" asked FM. "YES! Now let's get
back there! Give me a shout when you both have grabbed
hold!" said Grassie as he and FM both ran back and
grabbed the rope. Dr Warrell warily reached for the
rope. "Come on! I can't hold you forever! My feet are
cramping!" Speedy shouted at Dr Warrell as she moved
closer to the rope. Finally, he grabbed the rope and
clung onto it for dear life. Speedy sighed. No more
weight, and slowly she climbed up for her wings were so
tired. "Pull them up!" Speedy yelled. Slowly,
Merlin climbed up the rope as Grassie and FM pulled on
it. Dr Warrell, too scared to know what to do, continued
to hold. In two minutes, everyone was back on the
balcony. Speedy was on the ground, panting and moaning.
She could barely move.

"Oh Speedy! You must be exhausted!" says
Merlin, the Mysterious Sage.
He reaches into his
backpack and pulls out a tube of something. "Here we
are! 'Bayer Muscle & Joint Cream: Soothes bothersome
aches and pains'. Just hold still a moment," says
Merlin.
He applies the ointment
plentifully.
"That is much better," says
Speedy.

In the meantime, Grizz and Veronica go
back to see if they can find the 'person?' or 'thing?'
that was peeking at them from the top of the
rock.
They look all around the base of the
mushroom rock, but there is nothing at all to be seen;
no door, no path leading away, nothing. Grizz tries to
jump up to look at the top,but it's too high.
"Veronica," he says. "Can you climb up on my
shoulders and see if you can see the top of this
rock?"
She comes over a little
hesitantly.
"Are you sure you can hold me on your
shoulders? I don't like falling very
much."
"pffft No problem."
He makes a step
with both hands. Veronica puts one foot in it, bounces a
little, and then steps up while Grizz raises his hands.
She gets one foot on one shoulder, then steadying
herself against the rock, she gets the other foot up on
the other shoulder. Since she is under the mushroom cap
she has to crouch, keeping her balance with both hands
on the bottom of the cap, while Grizz walks slowly back,
his hands steadying her ankles, until she can stand up
straight.
"Can you see anything?"
"I think
there's a little sliding door," she says reaching out
across the top of the rock as far as she can. "But it
seems to be locked."
"Okay. Let's get you
down."
He reaches up with both hands so she can
grab them as she crouches again. Then he steadies her as
she lightly jumps down. He looks up at the rock, shakes
his head, and turns away.
"I guess we'll just
have to go on following the
path."

Day 5: Today was a big day. We had
some breakfast and went over to the central building. I
found a medium-sized opening in the trunk and we went
in. Inside there is indescribable. It's like an organic
house, with rooms in the branches. We split up to
investigate all 5 of them. The one I found had a desk
and a very official chair. There were two projector
devices on the desk, one displaying the Negilahn
wildlife, the other a detailed map of the tree, with
indicators for inhabitants. I was looking at these when
a large flying monkey swooped in! Needless to say I was
extremely frightened. But then there was a chimping
sound and he flew away. I followed after, naturally
curious. I came to a room with a balcony, and about to
fall over was Dr. Warrell! But then a few monkeys hit
into me from behind and pushed me over the edge along
with the Doctor. You have no idea how close I came to
levitating myself and Dr. Warrell out of there, but I
made a promise to the professor not to do any magic.
Luckily, Speedy saved, but just barely. I write this
while enjoying a very tasty fruit, whose origin is
unknown to me. All I can do is hope that tomorrow,
should I live to see it, is safer.

Before he began
the game, he thought of the other enhancement the Bahro
were going to make, his own personal secretary. He got
up and looked outside his virtual office. Sure enough,
she must have been away while he was up
last.
Hello Miss ... Arwen, isn't
it?
"Yes, it is.
How are you Mr. Chuckles. Is everything
satisfactory?"
Most definitely. Thank you for
asking. If Round comes looking for me, let him know I
want to speak to him. Well, I guess I'll move on to the
game. Wish me luck.
With that, he returned to
the workstation, popped the CD-ROM into the computer's
"retractible cup holder thingy".
After hitting
the little golf player icon, he waited for the colored
bar again.
He found he was standing inside a very
luxurious club house with overstuffed chairs, portraits
of famous golf holes on the walls, a large stone
fireplace, and numerous tables. The tables were
obviously for 19th hole activities. He saw a kiosk over
by the door. Upon further inspection, he noticed it was
a large leather bound volume, embossed in gold were the
words "Golf Age, Volume 1". He looked at the lower part
of the kiosk. There were similar volumes on bookshelves.
The lower part of the front and a full six feet high on
the other three sides.
He flipped the book open
to the first page. He wasn't surprised to find the first
course displayed was St. Andrews, the Old
Course.
Now I need someone to play the round
with. Let's see which of this club's members I can
challenge to a friendly game of golf.
He
noticed next to the book kiosk was a device with a three
dimensional imager and a keyboard interface. He sat down
and typed in two names on the keyboard. He hit the
"Summon Players" button on the keyboard. The screen
displayed his instructions to enter the golf LINKS at
the kiosk.
He got up, placed his hand above the
picture of St. Andrews and pressed it in
place. -------------------------------------------- Immediately
he smelled the aroma of freshly cut grass. He could hear
the sound of the wind rustling through the 'British
Open' length rough. Just then he heard someone clearing
their throat, as if to get his
attention.

Day
5: Indeed we had an exciting day. After spending
the night in a tree (sheesh, I really need to get over
my fear of heights!), we found this massive tree that
was a Main Street of this culture so far. I went
exploring through a room that was filled with books, but
the language is unknown to me. I took a book and
tonight, I will try to translate it. Dr Warrell found
a balcony, which he fell off from when a bunch of flying
monkeys came through (I don't think they are natural for
this age...) Merlin fell too, but luckily, Speedy saved
them both. She must be pretty strong if she can carrying
two people against gravity for 70 meters or so. FM
found a kitchen and everyone (but me) is really enjoying
the food. But I am a little skeptical of it. How well
can we trust this food? How do we know that this stuff
doesn't have some sleeping potion in it and the
inhabitants aren't going to come in here and take us? I
haven't seen any signs of any sort of people in this
age, but I will keep my eyes out
though...
"Hey Grassie!" Merlin
shouted. "Wha?" asked Grassie as he looked up.
Suddenly, a pie landed in his face. "HA HA!" Merlin
laughed. "Gotcha!" said FM. "Come on, try some!"
said Dr Warrell. Speedy, who was still stiff and
somewhat sore, came over to Grassie with a
napkin. "Do try some. It is quite good," Speedy said
as she wiped his face. "No thanks. I'm not hungry,"
Grassie said as he used his paw to get the rest of the
stuff off.
