Grassie and FM were
being carried through the elaborate tunnel system of the
knight world. It seemed like to these two that they were
in some type of stone building or cavern, since
everything looked like granite or some form of quartz.
Being carried up numerous flights of stairs and taking
endless turns, both of the forumites were losing their
way rather quickly... Until finally, they came to a
door. This door looked like steel or some variation
of it. The knight not carrying anyone raised the big
knocker and slammed it on the door. It opened. The
three knights and two forumites entered the room. (medieval music) It looked
very much a medieval throneroom. There was a carpet that
travelled to this big throne. Pillars were along the
sides of the wall, touching the ceiling far away. Many
black and silver banners hung from between the
pillars. "Brrrrrring the prrrrrisonerssss to
meeeeee!" came a high shrilly male voice. FM gulped.
Grassie began to sweat a little. The knights walked
forward, ever so slowly and dramatically... "Oh come
on! I don't have allll day!" the voice came
again. The knights sped up until they came 10 feet from
the throne. On it was this massive being, who had a
shiny helment with near white antlers. The knights
dropped Grassie and FM, literally. "OW!" they both
said. "Cooooome here!" said the being on the
throne. Grassie and FM looked at one another and
slowly moved forward to the person on the
throne. (dramatic pause) "Dooooo you know
whyyyyyy you have been brrrrrought here!" asked the
being on the throne. "Ummm... no?" said
Grassie. "Dooooo you even knowwwwww who I amm?" asked
the being. "Nope," said FM. "HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW
WHO I AM!!!" shouted the being. "We are... um...
visitors to this region..." stuttered Grassie, trying
not to give away that they linked here. "I am
knowwnnnnn thrrrrrroughout all of the rrreegions in this
land!" said the being. "Well, not in our region!"
said FM. "SILENCE! How darrrrre you mock the king of
the Knights who say... NI!" said the being. "ACK!"
said FM as he covered his ears. The king
laughed. "Ha! Even in yourrrrr rrregion you cannot
escape the powerrrr of the word!" said the king. "I
guess so..." muttered Grassie. "Noowwwwww... tell me
whyyyy you arrrrre in my kingdom?" ordered the
king. FM and Grassie looked at one another. "This
is your kingdom? Oh... um... a thousand apologies...
um... you see... we didn't see the sign that said this
place was yours..." said Grassie. "OF COURSE this is
MY kingdom! My name is knowwwwnn thrrrrrrroughout all of
the landss," "Except ours," corrected FM. "And
where EXACTLY do you come frrrrrom then?" asked the
king.

Chuckles58 drops into the Institution
for a security check. Despite the fact that a flesh
eating plant has taken over WHOOPS in Chere's absence
and that the neighborhood is almost deserted, Chuckles
can't find anything unusual.
Hi Almech. Long
time no see. You say you're a little behind on your
reading? Can I suggest a ten volume set of books I
loaned Elkae a while back? ... No?
If you're
wondering what you could do to help with the Professor's
research projects, he had a list. Let's see now where
would that be ... oh here it is.
Just to let you
know, the young sage Merlin has already inventoried the
Kadish vault. He did a fine job if I do say so myself.
{Wonders how many gold coins 'piles' were -- careful,
don't let the bean counter in me get out of
control}.
Reader's Digest Update Grizz,
Veronica and Theitris are currently wrapping up an
adventure in a DRC book.
Speedy, Grassie,
FrontMullet, Dr. Warrell and Merlin are currently in
Negilahn, investigating the wildlife and habitat. They
are currently 'guests' in separate prison
cells.
Cruiser took a job as director of
B.A.H.R.O. to improve Human/Bahro relations. There was a
big party here last week.
Elkae has opened her
Relto for visitors. (There's already 30 pages
there).
I have been evaluating some software that
my Bahro employees (the programmer ones) created that is
a simulation of a software company in Washington State
called "Magenta Planets". Within the simulation, I am a
programmer/tester evaluating games created within, such
as "Adventure on the High Seas" and "The Golf Age".
Watch for it at TLG's video/computer game store, Heek,
Inc.
Feel free to choose a project, or just hang
around. If you'd like, I'm still curious as to how many
gold coins are in the Kadish Vault.
Again,
welcome back.

Hi Boatingirl, I'm a bit concerned about
you entering your business, Cheres' secret plant is
becoming stronger and more dangerous. I assume it's
eating plant food and the cat food that was left, but is
probably running out. I'm not sure what to do about
it, and I'm afraid it might free itself from WHOOPS. If
you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate your
help. ps. Seymour is safe in my office.
Hearing the talk of a giant plant in
WHOOPS, almech wonders what he can do to help. Finally
he decides its time to put the trap book he completed to
good use.
"I may have a plan to remove the
plant." Almech says to Cruiser.
"Mushroom mushroom," Ronda murmured. Her
upside-down sojourn among the cavern's stalactites was
taking longer and longer. Having somewhat anticipated
this, she had plenty of fig newtons. The many trickles
of water seeping through cracks in the rock were fresh
and cool -- and more importantly, so far had caused no
gastrointestinal difficulties.
Maneuvering proved
much easier than she'd thought. The D'ni, predictably,
had been here before her -- there was a
radially-arranged grid of ancient but solid pitons still
in place. She'd first encountered them about 2/3 of the
way up the wall, where the slope began to curve more
precipitously beyond the vertical. Having read somewhat
of the D'ni culture and methodicalness, she suspected
the pitons would probably still hold her weight. When
she found one hanging from another by what looked
remarkably like a modern carabiner, and could thus see
the anchoring mechanism, she became very sure. The rock
would probably give before these pitons
did.
After that, movement became no more
difficult than getting into the rhythm of unclasping and
clasping her series of carabiners, from which her
hammock-like harness was suspended.
"Badger
badger badger badger..." She hadn't seen any badgers or
snakes yet, nor had she found the Burro cave, but there
were plenty of mushrooms and insects.
In cavern:
Ronda KI # 589268 - Atrus shard ~ TMP When the
going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
Professor T was considering whether he
should opt for the "assistance activation" now being
offered on the screen. Hmmm. Well, since it was advised,
he selected "Yes".
Thank you. You will meet
your assistants shortly. In the meantime, we would be
grateful if you would take a little time to complete the
following survey.
Did you find the room
simulation: ♦ Not at all convincing? ♦ Slightly
convincing? ♦ Fairly convincing? ♦ Very
convincing? ♦ Unbelievably
convincing?
Oh, so that little room was a
simulation! Well, it was very convincing. (Professor T
almost selected "Unbelievably convincing", but then
thought, well, a normal window would have smashed - as
would the chamberpot - and the view from the window
was a bit dull.)
Did you find the lever
puzzle (as completed so far): ♦ Too easy? ♦
Fairly easy? ♦ Fairly difficult? ♦ Very
difficult? ♦ Impossible?*
*If you selected
"Impossible" please make another selection, as in that
case you would not be here.
Hmmm. Fairly
easy, I think. What did it mean, "as completed so
far"?
Professor T looked up from the screen.
The background of stars around him was now moving
slowly. He noticed that the green arrows were glowing in
the floor once again, directing him back out of the
control centre. He rose from the exceedingly comfortable
chair and followed the arrows. Above the entrance to the
vast room was a legend in huge metallic lettering which
glowed dully in the softly lit space:
Star
Field Ship Lewis & Clark
The
arrows led him out of the room and in a new direction.
He was soon passing through large, bright corridors,
almost clinical in their whiteness. Every so often, a
door would slide open silently to let him pass. The
arrows in the floor finally directed him to the left and
he found himself standing outside a large, closed door.
A small screen to one side of the door
read:
OOC: I am equally surprised that Ronda
is on the cavern roof. Too bad Merlin or Mysti isn't
there to create some CFGTR for you!

Chuckles58 links into the Institution
wearing his usual plaid golf pants and carrying his Golf
Outing Linking Facilitator (GOLF). Since the professor
is still AWOL, Cordelia has plenty of free time on her
hands. Chuckles drops by the Egg Room for breakfast,
then runs up to Cordelia's office to invite her to a
round of golf. He holds out the GOLF device, which will
link her to the Golf Age Club House. If Chuckles guess
is correct, visiting this way will allow their Relto
books to be present in the Golf Age.
So
Cordy, are you up for a round of
golf?

The white door slid upwards, silently.
Professor T walked into a large room, which had a clean,
metallic and somehow unsettling odour. Then his jaw
dropped as he saw what was in the room:
A
nicely dressed young man comes into the *HOOD*. He looks
around and sees no one in the fountain area and
continues on to the classroom. Seeing the eggroom door
open he enters to find Cruiser, Bren and Seymour having breakfast.
